Everly & Kate Quilt

This quilt is near and dear to me, as it marks my new adventure as a grandmother (Granny).
Back in 2023, my soon-to-be daughter-in-law had a Kate Spade bag that I loved. The design on her bag screamed that it needed to be a quilt. Fast forward one year, when we find out she is going to have a baby girl, and I was like, "Oh, yes, now this design must become a quilt." After I contacted Kate Spade and received permission to create a quilt pattern based on their design, the project began.
Introducing the Everly & Kate Pattern brought to you by the love of design and family.

Fabric Choice
It was Quilt Market 2024 when I learned I was going to be a grandmother; however, I did not know whether it would be a boy or a girl, so even though I was on cloud 9, while buying fabric, I chose what I liked most. And what called to me was a Tilda Chambray bundle. Once I learned my grandbaby's gender, the bundle was an obvious choice for me. I was in love with the bundle and with the idea that we were going to have a baby girl.

Now, I am one of those quilters who prefer to stay with the fabric line for all parts of the quilt. Still, because this quilt has sentimental value, I went with Patty Basemi, whom I love as a person and designer, and Le Printemps in Day from her Mademoiselle collection for the backing.

Construction
The blocks that make up the Everly & Kate quilt are not hard. They are all pretty basic techniques; however, this quilt builds skills in organization and point precision. The pattern comes with a label sheet to help you stay organized, and a link to how I use my wonder clips for additional organizational help.

Quilting & Binding
As a longarm quilter, I am always looking forward to scrolling through the bazillion pantograph designs to choose the one that I think is the perfect match. I feel I found it with the 6 Petal Flower by The Dastardly Quilt Studio.

If you subscribe to my newsletter, have visited my blog, or follow me on Instagram, you know that I love my single-fold binding. Naturally, that is the technique used for this quilt, and I went with Tilda's Creating Memories Wovens Tiny Dot Pink fabric. In full transparency, this method is not the fastest or easiest, but it gives me the look I prefer. Also, I recently came across a new way of joing my binding tails, and that is easier and faster.

Baby Shower
The goal was to have my quilt made for my daughter-in-law's baby shower, and I came through. I am glad I did not lollygag because my Everly Ann surprised us 3 weeks early, and on May 21st, and now we share a birthday. Fun fact: that's my mom's birthday, too. Three generations of May 21st.

Photo Shoot
As you have read, this quilt is near and dear to me, and I have enjoyed every moment of the journey. From the inspiration, the construction, the pattern writing, and now offering to all those who would love to make their very own Everly and Kate Quilt Pattern. The pattern comes with easy-to-follow instructions, offers a ton of colorways, and includes a coloring shee
t. I am here for you if you have any questions. I hope you have as much fun making this as I did.
And as always,
Happy Quilting, my friends.
